Oakview Lake – carp fishing in France
An outstanding venue for the family angler and tucked away in the country lanes of the beautiful Mayenne countryside, Oakview is 2½ hours from the Caen ferry. The lake has been worked on with anglers in mind and a combination of a central island and swims on the curving banks means that up to 4 anglers can all enjoy fishing both the margins and the island. Its luxury lakeside lodge is of a high standard meaning that it will be appealing to non-anglers too – this is an ideal venue for a family holiday.
Hideaway – fishing holidays in France
As the name suggests Hideaway is a secluded lake in the Normandy countryside, just 1.5 hours from the ferry port of Caen. The 2 acre lake is fairly narrow and oblong in shape – fishing is from one bank only. Depths vary from less than a metre near the feeder stream, averaging 1m in the centre and down to 2.5m at the dam wall end. The lake bed is largely firm with pockets of patchy silt, notably at the dam. The banks are flat and grassy, ideal for setting up a bivvy and a pod. There are no specific pegs, but the bank is fishable along its entire length. Access is by foot, with parking at the entrance to the lake. The whole site is secure and fenced in and is a great venue tucked away in the Normandy countryside.
Vincons – carp fishing in France
Fast and furious action suited to the discerning family angler, Vinçons is a truly beautiful 12 acre spring fed lake situated on a working farm. The setting really is idyllic, quiet and rural, in one of the loveliest regions of central France. The lake is quite literally stuffed full with carp & most guests catch more fish than they ever thought possible. Add this to a choice of two types of accommodation and the use of a swimming pool and you can see why Vinçons has been one of our most popular destinations since 2001.
St Christophe – carp fishing in France
Excellent accommodation and specimen sized carp St. Christophe lies in the Champagne region of Eastern France, around 4 hours from Calais with the majority of the journey being by motorway. At the nearby famous Foret d’Orient lake complex there are numerous leisure activities, including swimming, cycle tracks and boating – making St. Christophe an ideal location for both the serious carper and for a family orientated carping holiday.
