Great fishing, excellent accommodation and a truly peaceful location. La Bletiere is a beautiful little venue in the heart of the French countryside, around 2.5 hours from the ferry at Caen, where you can have a well stocked carp lake all to yourself and stay in a high quality gite on the banks of the lake. It’s owned by English couple John & Lesley London who live on site and are always on hand for help and advice. A maximum of 4 anglers can fish the lake but John prefers 3 as that gives you options to move around a little.
Fast and furious action suited to the discerning family angler, Vinçons is a truly beautiful 12 acre spring fed lake situated on a working farm. The setting really is idyllic, quiet and rural, in one of the loveliest regions of central France. The lake is quite literally stuffed full with carp & most guests catch more fish than they ever thought possible. Add this to a choice of two types of accommodation and the use of a swimming pool and you can see why Vinçons has been one of our most popular destinations since 2001.
Stunning fishing with the chance of 70lb+ carp. For the first time for many years Croix is now available on a drive & survive basis. For the past 8 years it has only been available through fully inclusive trips run by A&J Euro Carp Sessions, but for 2009 A&J have decided to withdraw leaving the venue open to those who’d prefer to drive themselves. It’s around 2½ hours from Calais so the driving is not difficult. The A&J bailiff, Les, will be staying on so you can be assured of excellent advice if it’s your first visit.
Excellent accommodation and specimen sized carp St. Christophe lies in the Champagne region of Eastern France, around 4 hours from Calais with the majority of the journey being by motorway. At the nearby famous Foret d’Orient lake complex there are numerous leisure activities, including swimming, cycle tracks and boating – making St. Christophe an ideal location for both the serious carper and for a family orientated carping holiday.
Great fishing in an beautiful setting Genêts is situated in the idyllic, peaceful countryside of the Pays de la Loire region, near Mayenne. Although easy to find with the directions supplied it is set well away from busy main roads – the only neighbours you’ll be likely to see are cows grazing in the nearby fields – making this an ideal setting for a quiet week of fishing away from it all.
A true specimen venue with the chance of 70lb+ carp. If you’re looking for the chance of 70lb+ carp there are very few places in France where you can go – but Croix is one of them! The quality of fishing here is simply stunning – in addition to the 70’s there are at least 5 x 60’s, 17 x 50’s (including a 50+ common), backed up by dozens of 40’s… a true specimen venue.
An excellent lake and fabulous accommodation in beautiful surroundings. This is definitely a venue where you could take the whole family and relax knowing that they’ll be happy while you enjoy some fabulous fishing. The accommodation is optional so it will also suit a small group of up to 4 anglers who prefer to bivvy and enjoy a lake to themselves. To give further flexibility Glehias also offers some weeks when it’s possible for 2 pairs of anglers to book the lake on a shared basis… so if you fancy a crack at this stunning little venue there’s lots of options.
Sauvellière is a 3.5 acre lake set in the Mayenne countryside, less than 100 miles from the ferry at Caen. This venue is extremely private set in it’s own fenced grounds in a tranquil and peaceful area of Normandy. Staying here really is like having your own carp lake in your own garden and is immediately inviting the moment you pass through the entrance gate. The lawns are beautifully kept with a mature trees and bankside vegetation – it’s a little piece of heaven!
