Grosley – Carp fishing holidays in France
Grosley sur Risle is a well established and mature venue set in the Normandy countryside near Evreux. As its name suggests it lies in the Risle valley and is flanked by rolling hills and a railway line on its far bank – this does see some rail traffic, but nothing too intrusive. Before being turned into a carp fishery it was a leisure park so the facilities are very good. It’s now under new ownership having been recently purchased by Eric Touzé who is determined to create a first class carp fishery. Grosley has 2 separate lakes, the Large Lake (around 25 acres) and the Small Lake (around 9 acres). Both lakes have good stocks of carp; the record in the Large Lake is 48lb and the Small Lake 40lb.

The lakes are only a few metres apart so you can bivvy up together between the two and still socialise whilst fishing different lakes. Windmill is therefore the perfect combination for a group of anglers with mixed abilities. The Main carp lake has the better stamp of carp whilst the Top lake is a real runs water that also gives you the chance to catch big cats… and you certainly know about it when you have one of these on the line, believe us!
Morgane Lakes – fishing in France
Every angler knows that nothing can be guaranteed with fishing. Conditions can be wrong and carp are fickle creatures – unfortunately sometimes they just don’t feed. BUT… if there’s one venue on our books where we had to stake our reputation on good catches it would be Morganes. It sometimes appears that there’s more fish than water! Morganes is owned by one of Frances most respected fish farmers, Michel Bigot, so the lake is managed exceptionally well. The stock is constantly monitored and a recent netting of the carp lake showed a superb stock of fish running from 15 to 55lb, with great numbers of big fat commons. The cats range from 40 to 120lb and will provide plenty of exciting and tense moments… and monumental fight
